Richard maintains his professional development by regularly attending workshops, conferences and seminars. He prides himself on his experience and solid practical background. Richard has more than 25 years experience in the arboricultural and landscape management industries in the public and private sectors in the United Kingdom and the United States. He worked as a Tree officer for unitary local authority over six years.
Being familiar with local government procedures and practices, Richard has extensive experience of assessing publicly and privately owned trees while making appropriate, reasoned and reliable management recommendations. He is particularly experienced in the field of trees and development and is adept at undertaking surveys in accordance with the guiding principles of BS5837 (2012) Trees in Relation to Design, Demolition and Construction-Recommendations.
RJ Tree Services Ltd also specialise in providing local planning authorities with objective advice in relation to tree preservation order (TPO) applications and appeals, works to trees in conservation area notifications and giving advice on whether trees are suitable for preservation.
Laurie Angus is a Junior Consultant with RJ Tree Services Ltd. He is 29 years old and has 10 years experience working as a climbing arborist and groundsman for contractors in the south Leicestershire and Northamptonshire area. He moved to the Midlands from his home town of Edinburgh to successfully study for a BTEC National Diploma in Arboriculture (ND Arb) at Moulton College in Northamptonshire.
Laurie is a Technician Grade Member of the Arboricultural Association (TechArborA) and is currently studying online for a Foundation Degree in Arboriculture with Myerscough College in Lancashire. He has been working with RJ Tree Services Ltd for the past year or so gaining experience in surveying and assessing trees.
Being keen to learn, Laurie will be assisting the Director and Principle Consultant, Richard Jones, carry out various duties including surveying trees and putting together work specifications and reports. Laurie’s practical background makes him ideally suited for specifying works to trees and understanding the impact of trees on the landscape.
